We Need More Humans Upgrade Checklist
A printable-in-your-head tick list for the linear skill tree.
Print this in your brain, not on a printer. After each We Need More Humans round, buy the next cheap unlocked node that is still unchecked. Ranks live on upgrade priority. Icons live on the skill tree. This page is only the boxes.
Names use the 4 June 2026 demo rename pass: Beam Capacity, Arm Beam Capacity, Crop Circle Chance Each Second. If a YouTube video says Max Abductee, it is the same node.
Early boxes (desert + snow)
- Beam Capacity — cone holds more than a handful. S-tier. Early game build.
- Beam radius — sidewalk sweeps actually hit people.
- Abduct strength — filler if it is the cheap highlight.
- Human value — leave $2 land.
- Round Time — especially before the snow 1.6s clock. Tooltip example: 10 > 11 Seconds, $18.
- + time pickups on the map (not a tree node, still a box). Controls.
Do not tick Arm Beam Capacity here. A 1.0 screenshot prices it at $250.00M.
Mid boxes (suburb)
- Evolution (first purchase). Then keep tacking it when cheap. Evolution tier list.
- More value.
- More Capacity / radius if 5,675 red shirts feel like a wall. Locations.
- First gizmo habit: orbs, pads, gazebo toys. Habit, not a diamond.
Late boxes (dense city + neon)
- Arm Beam Capacity — 15 > 20, $250.00M on one gallery tooltip.
- Arm Beam Radius.
- Instant abduction chance.
- Crop Circle Chance Each Second.
- Radiation / radioactive bonus if the tree shows it.
- Remaining Round Time stacks (neon shot at 23.1s).
- Map-wide gimmick node if / when the last cluster offers it.
- Every leftover cheap diamond, because the tree is a checklist. Late game build.
Never-a-power boxes
- Cosmetic saucer (vanity).
- Cosmetic beam (vanity).
- “Saved 10 rounds for a preview node I cannot unlock.” Untick this lifestyle.
How to use this on a pad
- Round ends. Starfield. Cash in the middle.
- If the highlighted node matches an unchecked S or A box, buy it.
- Continue.
- If you cannot read the icon, this page is the tooltip. Do not tour grey locks.
Money should persist. Tick two boxes after a banked pair of rounds if you want. If cash wipes, that is a bug, not a box — see updates.
When every power box is ticked, take the mop-up lap on how to complete. Then optionally extras, Endless, and achievements.
If a patch renames another node, this list will follow release notes. Until then, Beam Capacity is the name.
Use the list as a pause-menu overlay, not as homework. One round, one or two ticks, Continue. If you fill a whole column in a single starfield visit, you probably banked cash — that is allowed. If you fill nothing because you are hovering a grey lock, you are fighting the skill tree instead of playing the walkthrough. Put the pad down, buy the highlight, fly. The early game build and late game build exist so this checklist does not have to argue about when a box becomes S-tier. If a round ends and you cannot remember whether Instant Abduction is in, this page is faster than hovering the starfield. Tick it, Continue, fly. The walkthrough still tells you which biome you are ruining; the checklist only tells you which diamond you already paid for.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Do I need to tick cosmetics?
Only if you care about fashion. They do not change stats according to launch reviews.
What if two nodes are available?
Buy the one that matches the highest rank on upgrade priority. Usually Capacity or radius early, arms or Instant late.
Is this a respec planner?
No respec exists. Unticking a box does not refund a diamond.
Where are the actual prices?
In-game tooltips. Public examples: Round Time $18, Arm Beam Capacity $250.00M. They scale; do not treat them as constants forever.
Can I use this in extra modes?
Yes. The tree is still the tree. How to complete explains extras.
