We Need More Humans Early Game Build

The first 40 minutes: $2 humans, a 6-second clock, and no million-dollar dreams.

Early Game Build

The early game of We Need More Humans is the desert village plus the snow town, and maybe the first look at a suburb. It lasts about half an hour if you buy like a grown-up and two hours if you stare at a $30M diamond. This build is the grown-up version. It matches getting started, controls, and the S-tier rows on upgrade priority.

Loadout (there is only one)

You cannot pick a class. You can pick an order:

  1. Beam Capacity until the cone holds a small crowd, not a couple.
  2. Beam radius until sweeping a dirt road actually hits both sidewalks.
  3. Human value when Capacity is no longer the pain.
  4. Round Time if snow’s clock feels like a jump scare (gallery shot: 1.6s).
  5. Evolution once those four are not embarrassing.

That is the early build. Abduct strength is fine as a filler click. Arms are usually still locked or overpriced. Instant Abduction is a later toy. Cosmetics are C.

Desert script

Population ~23, timer ~6.0s, $2 bodies. Sweep, do not hover. Watch the wooden sign, not only the $10 popups. After each round, spend. Money persists — the developer said so — so you may bank one extra lap if two cheap nodes are 20% away, but do not sit on a pile “for later.” Locations has the screenshot.

If humans get stuck in the centre of the map, that was a May 2026 demo bug. The full release should have the 31 May fix. If it happens anyway, move to a new area when the game allows and report it; do not assume you missed a gimmick.

Snow script

Population ~336, cabins, igloos, orbs on ice, possibly a saucer that already grew extra beams if you rushed. The short clock is the test. Buy Round Time. Fly through cyan orbs. Do not hunt the last three people behind an igloo until Capacity and radius are online — take the next round.

This is where people over-evolve. A fancier body on a 336-person map is a joke, not a plan. One Evolution purchase is enough flavour; dump the rest into being able to hold twenty people at once.

What “good” looks like before the suburb

  • You finish a desert round with time on the clock.
  • Snow orbs are part of your path, not a surprise.
  • You have not spent a minute hovering locked tree nodes on a pad.
  • Your wallet is small because you keep clicking diamonds.
  • You know where Continue is.

If the suburb’s 5,675 people feel like a wall, you left early. Buy another Capacity / radius pair, then enter. The walkthrough Act 3 assumes you did that.

Mistakes this build exists to stop

  • Saving for Arm Beam Capacity at $250M while you have $53. That tooltip is a late-game postcard. Look at it, laugh, buy $18 Round Time instead.
  • Treating the tree like a MOBA. There is no jungle route. See the review.
  • Ignoring the timer because the genre says “idle.” This one is active. You fly every second.
  • Missing that map toys exist. Even early, orbs are fly-over buttons.

When the church and gazebo show up, this build is over. Switch to stacking Evolution and value, then open the late game build once million-dollar scoops appear. Tick what you already bought on the upgrade checklist so you do not repurchase mentally.

The evolution tier list can wait until bodies actually change. If everyone is still beige, you are still in this document.

One more early-game tell: if your dollar ticks are still single digits and the population sign has two digits, you should still be buying Beam Capacity. If you already see four-digit populations and you have not touched radius, you skipped a box on the upgrade checklist. Go back, tick it, then return to snow. The walkthrough Act 2 assumes you did not skip it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How long is the early game?

About 20–40 minutes if you buy cheap nodes. It is desert plus snow, sometimes the first suburb laps.

Should I buy Evolution in the desert?

Only if it is the cheapest useful node after Capacity. Otherwise wait. Details on evolutions.

The snow timer is impossible. What now?

Buy Round Time and grab + pickups. Controls covers the clock.

Can I skip the desert?

No. Clear it, then travel. The locations atlas is linear like the tree.

When do I switch to the late build?

When million-dollar scoops and arm-beam prices show up — usually dense city / neon. See late game build.
